How to Accumulate Your Reserve Funds at the IESS

Reserve funds offer a valuable savings opportunity for members of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS). These funds are essentially 8.33% of your monthly salary, paid by your employer as established by law. While you have the option to receive these funds monthly, you can also choose to accumulate them for future use.
How to Accumulate Your Reserve Funds
The good news is, accumulating your reserve funds is a simple online process that can be done 24/7. Here’s how to do it:
- Visit the IESS website: www.iess.gob.ec
- Click on the “Virtual Procedures” icon.
- Select “Affiliates” and then click on the “Reserve Funds” icon.
- Log in using your ID number and password.
- Select ”Reserve Fund Requests” and then “Reserve Fund Accumulation Request.”
- The system will prequalify your application. Click “Register” to proceed.
Additional Information:
Foreign citizens need to provide their identification code.
The amount accumulated in your reserve funds serves as a guarantee for obtaining an unsecured loan.
* You need to accumulate a minimum of 36 payments (monthly contributions) to withdraw your reserve funds.
