Without a doubt, the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games have left many experiences and stories both in the events and outside of them. The story of the dog called “Colombo” is one of them, one of those that will go down in history.
The history of Colombo begins in the streets, as a stray dog, which by fate ended up in the building where the Colombian delegation was staying. As is normal in this type of animal, it showed distrust, however, over time it was winning over the Colombian delegation.
The canine was adopted by the delegation’s physiotherapist, Patricia Chivita, giving the puppy the opportunity for a new life, this time with the warmth and affection of the people around him.
“They say out there that dogs choose us. We did a blood test, we checked her health… and as time went by, we fell in love with each other” indicated Patricia Chivita.
After the Closing, Colombo will travel to Colombia where he hopes to have a new life, with all the love he lacked when he was a stray dog.
