In his speech before the 79th General Assembly, Guterres said, “The world is going through a very important whirlwind and change, and the challenges we face are unprecedented, and global solutions are needed,” noting, “The big world. heading towards something we don’t even want to think about, a ticking time bomb… A danger to the whole world.”
He said, “The planet is getting warmer, and wars are continuing, which we don’t know how they will end, and they continue to get worse,” emphasizing, “The current state of the world is not sustainable, and solutions to the challenges presented are possible, but mechanisms to solve international problems must be effective.”
He pointed out that some of the developing countries believe they can “get away without paying a price” and occupy other countries, destroy entire societies, and ignore the welfare of their people,” giving noted, “There is a state of punishment. everywhere, in the Middle East, and in the heart of Europe.” And in the African Cup and beyond.
He continued, “The world is like a powder keg that can explode, and some countries believe they can violate international laws without accountability or oversight,” noting, “We are witnessing crimes without accountability in the Middle East, and civilians are paying the price.”
