Lebedev wins the European Speedway Championship for the second time in his career /

Lebedev was second in the first race, won the second and third races, finished third in the fourth race, and finished second in the fifth race, securing the overall victory.

After five races, Dane Anders Thomsen, who collected 14 points, and Leon Madsen, Thomsen’s compatriot, who got 12 points, made it to the finals.

Lebedev with 11 points took part in the additional race, where the Poles Patrik Dudek, Kasper Warina and Robert Hmel, who collected ten points in five races, also started.

Warina won, advancing to the finals together with Dudek, who finished in second place.

Thomsen won the final, Madsen finished second, Vorina finished third and Dudek finished fourth.

Thomsen won the stage, accumulating 17 points. Second with 14 points was Madsen, 11 points were collected by Vorina and ten by Dudek.

Lebedev took fifth place in the stage with 11 points.

Kostigov was third in the first two races, took fourth place in the third, fell in the fourth, but was last in the fifth race, taking 17th place with two points.

In four stages, Lebedev collected 50 points, Madsen took second place with 47 points and Vorina took third place with 44 points. Kostigov took 17th place with ten points.

At the beginning of June in Debrecen, Lebedev won and Kostigov took 13th place, in the middle of July in the Polish city of Grudzionz, Lebedev took eighth place and Kostigov took 16th place, but at the end of August in the German city of Gistrov, Lebedev won and Kostigov took 16th place.

There were four stages in the European Championship this season, with the winner securing a place in the next season’s Grand Prix, which is the world speedway championship.

Last year, Lebedevs won fifth place in the European championships, but in 2017 he became the first Latvian speedster to win the European championships.
