VLAARDINGEN – On Wednesday 21 September, the De Plataan Library is organizing a lecture about dementia from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Everyone wants to do enjoyable but also useful activities. Everyone wants to care. Everyone wants to belong somewhere. With this information we will look at which activities are most suitable for people with dementia, alone or together. It discusses what you should or should not do when offering an activity. How can you support someone well and also enjoy it yourself.
About Marjan van Dorp
Marjan van Dorp started as a physiotherapist, including in elderly care. She has also held various positions in the care and welfare sector, including the position of case manager for dementia. From her company ‘De Bovenkamer’ she founded Odensehuis De Bovenkamer in 2016. She gives music and movement lessons at the Memory Palace in Rotterdam Center.
Since 2021, she has been focusing on individual guidance for people with dementia at home and for people who have been admitted to an institution. She is also available for lectures to transfer knowledge and increase insight.
