Chennai,- The Electricity Board has urged the ‘Energy Efficiency’ company to restart the sale of electrical appliances including LEDs and bulbs that run on low electricity and with high efficiency in Tamil Nadu.

The Central Government, National Thermal Power Corporation, ‘Power Grid Corporation, Rural Electrification, Power Finance’ have joined forces to launch Energy Efficiency Services.

Energy saving

The company sells devices including LED, bulb, tube light, electric fan, ‘AC’ device which run with high efficiency with less electricity in order to save electricity all over the country. Their price is less than the open market.

Since 2017, Energy Efficiency has been selling high-efficiency electrical appliances near the electricity board’s payment centres.

While many people have bought and benefited from them, there has been no sale for two years due to the corona virus and lockdown.

Many people contact the electricity board officials and ask for the electrical appliances of the energy company.

Subsequently, the Electricity Board has written a letter to the Energy Company requesting to restart the sale of electrical appliances including LED, bulb, tube light.

Not satisfied

In this regard, an official of the Central Power Department said:

The energy company sold electrical appliances through private agencies near electricity toll centers in Tamil Nadu.

The functioning of those agencies is not satisfactory.

Therefore, from next April, steps will be taken to directly sell devices such as LEDs and bulbs, not only at electricity payment centers, but also at public service centers of the central government.

This is what he said.
