“Thanks to active diplomacy, driven by enlightened Royal leadership, Morocco is a great African power,” said this former MEP and emeritus professor of law at the University of Paris-II in a statement to MAP on the occasion of the celebration by the Moroccan people of the 25th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty the King.
The stature enjoyed by the Kingdom is the fruit of several years of institutional, political and economic reforms which have consolidated the foundations of a modern, prosperous, stable Morocco open to the world, he explained.
Highlighting the economic growth and societal advances recorded under the leadership of the Sovereign, he called for “a reflection on the Mediterranean where Morocco, the only stable country in the South of this region, will play a key role in being able to meet the various challenges we face”.
“On the European side, we must implement a policy geared towards the countries on the southern shore of the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean must be our focus, with Morocco as the pivot of a genuine policy of co-construction of our common future,” he insisted.
The Mediterranean and Europe are fortunate to have Morocco as their interlocutor, where His Majesty the King is the guarantor of stability, with an avant-garde vision, a well-defined course and a well-set horizon, explained the French lawyer.
