2 goals and 1 assist… PSG leads with 4 consecutive wins
Lee Kang-in, the next generation star in Korean soccer, scored his first multi-goal of the season, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) took the lead with four consecutive wins.
Lee Kang-in played as a starter in the 11th round away game of the 2024-2025 season French professional soccer league 1 against Angers held at the Raymond Kopa Stadium in Angers, France on the 10th (Korean time) and led PSG to a 4-2 victory with multiple goals.
PSG, with 4 consecutive wins, maintained its lead in League 1 (29 points).
Lee Kang-in was responsible for the team’s first and second goals in three minutes.
In the 17th minute of the first half, he kicked Marco Asensio’s cross with a right-footed, non-stop shot. Angers defender Jourdan Leborg kicked it in front of the goal, but it was recognized as a goal after the goal line review.
Three minutes later, Lee Kang-in scored an additional goal with a left-footed non-stop shot to beat Asensio’s goal.
Lee Kang-in’s 5th and 6th goals of the season marked the first time since joining PSG that he has succeeded in scoring multiple goals in one game.
It has been 1 year and 7 months since he scored multiple goals on the professional stage since the Getafe match in April 2023 while playing for Valencia (Spain).
Lee Kang-in, who wore the PSG uniform last season, scored 5 official goals in his debut season (3 goals in the regular league, 1 goal in the Champions League, and 1 goal in the Super Cup).
This season, with the first half not over, he has scored 6 goals in the league alone. On the team, he ranks second in scoring after Bradley Barcola (10 goals).
PSG, who took the lead with Lee Kang-in’s multiple goals, went further in the 31st minute when Barcola scored the team’s third goal.
Then, in extra time in the first half, Lee Kang-in helped Barcola score a header with an accurate cross.
This is the first time Lee Kang-in has recorded three attack points on the professional stage.
Lee Kang-in played until he was replaced by Joao Neves in the 46th minute of the second half, but unfortunately he was unable to achieve a hat trick.
Angers trailed by two goals in extra time in the second half, but there was not enough time to turn the game around.

Interview between Time.News Editor and Soccer Expert Tom Parker
Time.News Editor: Welcome to the show, Tom! We’re thrilled to have you here to discuss Lee Kang-in’s incredible performance for PSG. What a night it was for him and the team!
Tom Parker: Thanks for having me! Absolutely, Lee Kang-in’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. Scoring two goals and providing an assist in a single match really showcases his talent and importance to the team.
Editor: Definitely! This match against Angers marked Lee’s first multi-goal game of the season. What does this achievement say about his development as a player since joining PSG?
Parker: It says a lot! We knew he had immense potential coming from Valencia, but to see him step up and deliver in crucial moments for PSG speaks volumes. This is a significant milestone for him—his first time scoring multiple goals in a single match since his time at Getafe back in April 2023.
Editor: Right. And let’s talk about how integral he was to PSG’s victory. He scored the first two goals in quick succession. How important is it for a player to deliver in such critical moments?
Parker: It’s incredibly important. Scoring early in a match can really set the tone for the entire game. Lee’s first goal, though it had a bit of controversy with the goal line review, ignited the team’s momentum. Scoring again just minutes later showcased his quick decision-making and clinical finishing abilities. It not only lifts his confidence but also boosts the team’s morale.
Editor: I understand this is also a significant personal milestone for him, considering it marked his 5th and 6th goals of the season. How does this impact his standing in the team considering he’s currently second in scoring behind Bradley Barcola?
Parker: It’s a fantastic position for him to be in. Scoring six goals already in the league is impressive, especially before half the season has passed. It places him in a strong position within the squad and underlines the fact that PSG can count on him as a reliable goal scorer. Given that he ranked high in scoring in his debut season, it’s clear that he is building on that success.
Editor: Absolutely. And beyond just goal scoring, he also assisted Barcola’s goal with a lovely cross. This isn’t just about being a scorer; how crucial is playmaking in his role?
Parker: It’s essential. Being able to contribute as both a scorer and a playmaker shows his versatility on the field. A player who can both finish chances and create them is invaluable, especially in a team like PSG, where the attacking pressure is high. That was a moment where he displayed not only individual skill but also great vision and teamwork.
Editor: It seems like he’s really finding his rhythm. Looking ahead, what do you think his future holds at PSG and in European football?
Parker: If he continues on this trajectory, his future looks incredibly bright. He’s surrounded by world-class players capable of nurturing his talent further. Given PSG’s ambitions and the heightened expectations with their star-studded lineup, Lee could become a cornerstone of the team for years to come. His performance on the big stage could potentially open doors for him in international play and elevate his profile across Europe.
Editor: Exciting prospects ahead! Thank you, Tom, for sharing your insights on Lee Kang-in’s performance and what it means for PSG. We’re all eager to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
Parker: Thank you for having me! Exciting times for soccer fans, for sure.
