Lee Ye-won (21, KB Financial Group) maintains the lead for the third day at the Hanwha Classic on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour and aims for a wire-to-wire win.

Lee Ye-won recorded two birdies and three bogeys in the third round of the KLPGA major tournament Hanwha Classic held at the Jade Palace Golf Club (par 72) in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do on the 24th, shooting a 1-over-par 73.

Lee Ye-won, who recorded an intermediate total of 11-under 205, maintained her lead by two strokes over Park Ji-young (28, Korea Land Trust) and Lee Ga-young (25, NH Investment & Securities, both 9-under 207), who were tied for second place.

The Hana Classic is the tournament with the highest prize money on the KLPGA Tour, with a prize of 306 million won.

Lee Ye-won, who has already achieved three wins this season, is a strong candidate to win the championship.

Lee Ye-won, who was the runner-up in last year’s tournament, is aiming for a rebound in the second half of the season as she has risen to first place in the most wins category with this year’s win. She raised expectations for victory with her good performances from the first to the third rounds of this tournament.

Lee Ye-won said, “I didn’t get a good flow because I couldn’t seize the opportunity early on. I didn’t make good mid- to long-distance putts either,” and added, “I held on well and got a birdie on the last hole. I’ll do better tomorrow.”

Park Hyun-kyung (24, Korea Land Trust), who tied with Lee Ye-won with three wins, shot a 1-over 73 with two birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey, tying for 10th place (5-under 211).

Erika Hara (Japan), who has won three major tournaments on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour, tied for 22nd place (2-under 214) with a 2-over 74, including one birdie and three bogeys.

Yoon Ina (21, Hite Jinro), who has been on a roll this year after returning from a disciplinary action due to the ‘Ogu play controversy’, has won once and finished second three times, and has six birdies but has also made three bogeys and one double bogey, losing one stroke.

Yoon Ina, who failed to reduce her stroke count, enters the final round tied for 22nd place with Hara.
