There has been much speculation about the future of the Frenchman, Julian Alaphilippe is at a turning point in his career in 2024 as it will be his last year of his contract with Soudal – Quick-Step and there are many versions about the possible closure of his professional career. Lefevere spoke about ‘Loulou’.

Patrick Lefevere, director of Soudal – Quick-Step, renowned for his candor, evaluated the initial performance of the former world champion: “Australia was good, neither bad nor great. We saw Julian at the level we expect from him. He can win. He could have triumphed at Willunga if he had waited a little longer before attacking, but he came close.” he noted for GCN.

Lefevere has been critical of Alaphilippe, however, he is still confident in his ability to regain his top level. “It is a crucial season for him, but he assured me that with a good winter he could return to his previous level. I hope he doesn’t have bad luck this year and reaches his best time in the Tour of Flanders. I remember the 2020 race and the incident with the motorcycle. He was the one who led the escape, but I am sure that his talent is still intact,” he said, hopeful for the future.

Alaphilippe’s future remains up in the air as the season progresses and expectations grow. The uncertainty over his renewal and his performance are intertwined, leaving fans and the cycling community anxious about what the fate of the great ‘Loulou’ holds.

Additionally, we want to report MARCA HORA, to the site ViewMe, and that another Latin American multimedia, which also steals the material, becomes evident when it publishes on the same day as us news that was actually from previous days and we decided to delay. If the incident is repeated, we will hold a public protest.
