He tripped and fell after shaking hands with the last of the Air Force Academy’s senior cadets. A Force officer and two members of the Secret Service (responsible for ensuring the safety of the president and his family) helped Biden to his feet.
Afterwards, the chairman of the Democratic Party returned to his seat. Biden is the oldest US president in history at 80 years old. “He’s fine,” White House Communications Director Ben LaBolt said at the Twitter. “There was a sandbag on the stage as he was shaking hands.”
Biden spoke of global threats before he fell
The case took place at Falcon Stadium in Colorado. In his speech, Biden highlighted potential worldwide threats that Air Force Academy graduates will face as future military leaders. He also commented on the war of Russia against Ukraine, according to the newspaper The Gazette.
Biden said he is in good health and will run for re-election in 2024. According to doctors who attend to him, the US president does not drink, does not smoke and exercises five times a week.
