Left with four children in the ruins. Neighbors demolished a woman’s house in the Ak-Ordo new building — she has been suing for a plot for several years

In the Ak-Ordo new building, neighbors demolished the house of Maral Sharabolotova, where she lived with her husband and four minor children. The woman turned to the people of Kyrgyzstan for help – caring citizens set up a yurt for temporary residence near the ruins of her house.

Sharabolotova's mother Aizhan Bekturova told Turmush journalists that on March 1, her daughter went to work, after which the electricity was cut off in the house, and special equipment and a group of people were already waiting outside.

“I replied that I would not leave the house until my daughter returned from work. […] After they climbed onto the roof and began to throw down the roofing sheets. The children got scared and started crying[…] The ceiling began to crumble. Thus, before the daughter returned, they dismantled the roof. I had to go outside with my grandchildren. The furniture was pulled out into the street,” Bekturova said.

Then the house was demolished. The woman's pleas for help were answered by caring citizens who brought food and set up a yurt on the site.

Sharabolotova explained that she and her neighbors have been suing for this land since 2018. In October 2022, the Supreme Court sided with their neighbors, she said.

“They destroyed my house and at one point I was left with nothing with four children,” Sharabolotova said.

In turn, the akim of the Sokuluk district, Kurbanbek Aitibaev, said that they would study the legality of this incident, and also organize temporary housing for the family: they would put a container or a wagon.

“After that again, the locals were very unhappy. Some even wanted to arrange lynching - set fire to the neighbors' house. I reassured them and said that we would decide everything according to the law,” the official said.

At the Supreme Court in interview Azattyk was informed that Sharabolotova built her house illegally and on March 1 bailiffs executed the decision to demolish it.

Nevertheless, an adviser to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Zhaparov, Urmat Tokzhumaev, visited the affected family on March 4 and said that a new house would be built for them with the support of the government.
