jpnn.comJAKARTA – Legendary actress Olivia Hussey, who became famous for her role as Juliet in the film adaptation of Franco Zeffirelli’s “Romeo & Juliet” in 1968, has died at the age of 73.
This sad news was announced via his official Instagram account and confirmed by his family on Friday (27/12).
Hussey breathed his last breath at home, surrounded by family and those closest to him.
In an official statement, his family described Hussey as a person full of warmth, wisdom and kindness.
“He was an extraordinary soul, whose life was filled with love, passion for art, and great care for animals,” they wrote.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 17 1951, Olivia Hussey moved to London as a child.
Her acting talent began to show at the age of 13, and she got her big break when she was chosen to play Juliet in the film adaptation of Shakespeare’s work.
The film became a global sensation, featuring teenagers the same age as the original characters, with Hussey being 16 at the time and Leonard Whiting, his co-star, being 17.
