Chennai: Veteran actress’ grandmother passed away in Coimbatore. She is 91. She is the grandmother of famous character actress KR Rangammal. He made his cinematic debut with MGR starrer ‘Farmer’ and has acted in films of many leading actors including Shivaji, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Vijay. In one of Vadivelu’s comedies, Rangamma’s grandmother’s performance of saying, “Go away .. go away that dog a little bit” was well received.

He has acted in over 500 films in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi and has been living in poverty for the last few years.

Thus, he made a living selling cursives, soap and toys at the Chennai Marina Beach. Following the request of the cast to help him, some actors came to his aid.

In this situation, due to old age and poverty, he moved to his hometown, Annur Telugupalayam in Coimbatore district. He was unwell there for a few days and passed away yesterday. Many filmgoers are mourning his death.
