The Olympiakos Youth team got a legendary qualification for the “16” of the UEFA Youth League against Inter U19, in the penalty shootout and will now wait for their opponent in the draw that will take place on Friday 09/02 in Nyon.
Full of passion and determination, the young players of Thrylos managed to qualify against the leader of the Italian youth league, Inter, despite the fact that they were forced to compete for a long time with one less player, after the expulsion of Papacanello. The “red and whites” especially from the elimination and then brought out even more passion on the pitch and reached this great qualification.
The visitors started the game stronger and had good moments in the first 20 minutes with both Kamate and Stankovic, but without worrying the goalkeeper Sina. Olympiacos then equalized and was in control of the match, having classic opportunities for goals.

In the 65′, Koutsogoulas passed whoever he found in front of him and found himself in a position to shoot, but his place was weak with Raimondi pushing away. A little later, in the 70′, Olympiacos had two huge opportunities to open the scoring. Initially, Pneumonidis crossed into the opposite corner with the Inter goalkeeper reacting correctly, while seconds later Mouzakitis made a diagonal ball to Papakanellos, whose cross was again stopped by the Inter goalkeeper.
But the balance of the match changed in the 73′, when Papakanellos received a second yellow card and Olympiacos was left with 10 players.
Despite this, the team of Sotiris Sylaidopoulos withstood the pressure of Inter, showed passion and even had a great chance to win in regular time.
Specifically, in the 88th minute, X. Kostoulas took the ball from the center area, with a nice individual energy he found himself in the opponent’s area, he saw the movement of Liatsikouras from the other side of the area and made the pass to him, but the latter’s place went through just wide of the post.
So the match went to the penalty shootout, as there was no extra time, where Thrylos managed to get the qualification over Inter, hitting all the penalties, while Koki sent the ball out.
