Mumbai: Singer Lata Mangeshkar, popularly known as the Nightingale of India, has been admitted to hospital after suffering from Kovid. He is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Born on September 28, 1929, Lata Mangeshkar received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, France’s highest civilian honor, Officer of the Legion of Honor, and numerous national and international awards. In 1974, Lata Mangeshkar was inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records. She sang more than 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974. In 2001, she was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.
