Legislative 2022: from the presidential rout to the talks with the Insoumis, is this the end of the PS?

We cannot be and have been. A little more than five years ago, the Socialist Party presided at the Élysée, governed at Matignon and legislated in the National Assembly. Today, the party of Léon Blum, Jean Jaurès and François Mitterrand has achieved the unthinkable: posting the dismal score of 1.75% in the first round of the presidential election, behind the Communist Party (2.3%), environmentalists (4.6%) and especially the now all-powerful Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the Insoumis.
