Miklós Jankovich Primary School and AMI in Rácalmás informs its students and parents about the legislative changes affecting afternoon physical education on its social media page. As director István Márta put it in the announcement: “We do this also because of the topic

it was not a malicious pop-up rumor

. We are law enforcers, just like you, we also have to comply with the legislation, but we also strive to find the best possible solution for each student by looking for the given opportunities.”

The following can be read in the continuation of the director’s briefing:

“On the basis of Act CXC of 2011 on national public education, the regulation of exemption from daily physical education changed from September 2024.

Inc. § 27.(11): (11) * The school organizes daily physical education within the framework of at least one physical education lesson per day, of which no more than two hours per week can be substituted based on the application of a student competitor who is certified as an athlete in accordance with the law on sports – in possession of a competition license – with proof of a training visit organized within the framework of the sports organization, if the physical education class is not preceded or followed by a general knowledge teacher.

Based on the legislation, the student can only be exempted from two physical education lessons per week if he is a certified athlete, has an individual competition license and has a certificate of training visits. Furthermore, based on the justification of the law, students with a competition license can be exempted from two hours a week if “in addition to the proof of training, the relevant physical education lesson is not preceded or followed by a general education lesson, i.e. if the physical education lesson is the zero, the first, the last or the last two fall on teaching hours’.

Henceforth, e.g. folk dancing, dance classes, visiting the school sports circle do not exempt you from attending the two classes, and it is also not acceptable if the student plays sports somewhere, but does not have an individual competition permit.

Of course, we accept all certificates that comply with the above legislation.”
