Legislative: LFI and the Greens have reached an agreement

by time news

The negotiations almost led to the popular union. While the left-wing parties feverishly pursued their quest for an agreement all day Sunday to go together in the legislative battle, under the leadership of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the Insoumis, an agreement was reached between LFI and EELV In the evening.

The agreement, which was submitted during a federal council, was validated by the Greens by 84 votes for, 10 against and 8 blank votes.

What du PS?

With 21.95% of Jean-Luc Mélenchon in the first round of the presidential election of April 10, LFI had quickly launched bilateral discussions with the other left-wing parties in order to find an agreement for the legislative elections. Negotiations with environmentalists, the Communist Party, the PS and the NPA, all below 5% in the April 10 election, have been moving forward since then.

These union efforts have inflamed the PS minority who are clearly hostile to an alliance with LFI. “If the discussions do not end tonight, then it will never end”, launched Sunday, in the Parisian Labor Day parade, the head of LFI, who came third in the presidential election. “Tonight, I’m sleeping,” replied Olivier Faure, the first secretary of the PS a few tens of meters away: “There is no deadline, one must succeed. We can clearly see that we are not that far from an agreement. We will continue to talk tonight. »

A few minutes later, Faure and Mélenchon shook hands, before engaging in a brief conversation to cries of “Popular Union! ” in the crowd.
