Legislative: macronie facing the dynamics of the left

A sense of deja vu. For the legislative elections, the Macronists wanted to reproduce the strategy which succeeded in the presidential election: a late entry into the running, then an acceleration in the final straight. This is how Emmanuel Macron launched hostilities fifteen days before the first round. Since the end of May, he has increased his travels (Cherbourg, Marseille, Clichy-sous-Bois, Gaillac and Puycelsi) and granted a long interview to Parisien-Aujourd’hui in France and to several regional press titles. His leitmotif: “the implementation of the project that I have defended requires a strong and clear majority in the National Assembly”. At the same time, his ministers – 15 of whom are themselves candidates – have crisscrossed the constituencies.
