La France insoumise wants “perhaps to be in opposition”. The national secretary of the French Communist Party this Tuesday, the guest of the BFMTV morning show was put forward. Fabien Roussel challenged the rebels with their refusal to consider Laurence Tubiana as a coalition of the Popular Front (NFP) for Matignon, a candidate supported by the rest of the left components.

“They want to build, so that we meet the French expectations? Or do they want to find an excuse to leave and stick to a more comfortable opponent? » hammered the Communists after nine days of fruitless talks between the left to identify a common candidate for the position of Prime Minister – at a time when negotiations continue this Tuesday.

Fabien Roussel then recalled that other NFP parties, namely the communists, environmentalists and socialists, agreed to present “a candidate from civil society”. “When the rebels said the socialists veto a who will not come to their positionit is false,” he continued, referring to Manuel Bompard’s statement.

“It’s urgent”

“We ask, I ask, La France insoumise to return to the discussion table” finally said Fabien Roussel. The Communist reiterated his desire to continue negotiations to find a common NFP candidate for Matignon as quickly as possible: “Let’s sit around the table, do things and come quickly” he continued.

In the event of a lack of consensus, “maybe we will have to go to a vote,” said the communist leader. The theory was already mentioned by the socialist Olivier Faure and the philosopher Sandrine Rousseau in particular. Fabien Roussel, for his part, finally said he was “concerned” and confirmed that the lack of a solution would be a “real disaster” and “disrespect” for the NFP voters.
