After Leeds’ 4-0 defeat at QPR

One person’s relegation means another person’s promotion: With the surprising 4-0 win against Leeds United on Friday evening, QPR not only secured their own stay in the Championship, but also helped league leaders Leicester City to get straight back up. The Foxes, who only play their penultimate second division game of the season on Monday at Preston North End (9 p.m.), can no longer be denied remaining in direct promotion places one and two.
Leeds, coached by Daniel Farke (90 points), are four points behind Leicester in second place with just one game left. However, coach Enzo Maresca’s team is not yet sure of the second division championship: Ipswich Town, which is in third place in the first playoffs, can still overtake both Leeds and Leicester with three games remaining and has 89 points.
Ilias Chair (8th), Lucas Andersen (22nd), Lyndon Dykes (73rd) and Sam Field (86th) scored the goals for QPR. Farke and Co., who have played two more games than Ipswich, no longer have direct promotion in their own hands. The Whites have only won one of the last five championship games.
