Olympiakos will probably part ways with coach Pedro Martins soon, especially after the 4:0 defeat against Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League qualifiers, but in the meantime the coach announced the Greek club’s squad for the Europa League, when the acquired player Doron Leidner, who signed a four-year contract yesterday, was not included.
The Greeks will meet Sloven Bratislava and the defender who came from Po’el Tel Aviv is not part of the list, but this may change, when if Olympiakos moves to the next stage and in fact even if they are relegated and fall out of the conference qualifiers, the squad could change accordingly.
The squad could still change even before the current round, but the Greek media reports that another player who will sign with the team is the one who will enter the squad at the last minute, and Leidner’s debut will have to wait. Either way, on August 20, Olympiakos will open the Greek league against Giannina, and by then the defender is expected to fit in.
