During this meeting, held on the sidelines of the work of the 2024 Summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF), the two parties praised the excellence of the relations between Morocco and Turkey in the fields of transport and logistics, expressing their desire to further promote bilateral cooperation in this sector.
In the field of maritime transport, the Turkish minister presented his country’s rich experience in the port sector and the development of the commercial maritime fleet, expressing Turkey’s willingness to make this experience available to Morocco for its ambitious project to develop its national maritime fleet, which is part of the vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
Regarding road transport, Mr. Abdeljalil expressed Morocco’s willingness to benefit from Turkey’s experience in implementing the digital tachograph in the transport of goods and passengers. In this regard, Mr. Uraloglu presented his country’s excellent experience in this field and the Turkish side’s willingness to make it available to Morocco.
On the subject of road safety, the two ministers agreed on an exchange of experiences and expertise in this area.
Furthermore, Mr. Abdeljalil extended an invitation to his Turkish counterpart to take part in the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, scheduled for February 18-20, 2025 in Marrakech.
A high-level Moroccan delegation, led by Mr. Abdeljalil, is taking part in the work of the FIT Summit 2024, which is being held from May 22 to 24 in Leipzig under the theme “Making Transport Greener: Staying Focused in Times of Crisis”.
The Moroccan delegation, composed of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and public institutions and companies under its supervision, as well as other ministerial departments and public and private organizations, is participating in the various ministerial sessions, round tables and conferences of this event, the largest global gathering of transport ministers and the first event on transport policy on an international scale.
