After several concert cancellations, it was initially unclear whether Lena Meyer-Landrut’s next shows would be able to take place. Now the singer herself has spoken out.
At the end of June, two of Lena Meyer-Landrut’s concerts were cancelled: Due to “cramp-like abdominal and kidney pains”, her performance at the Tollwood Festival in München canceled. One day later, her show in Wangen was also canceled. The 33-year-old had to be treated in a clinic.
On the singer’s social media channel, fans were not only worried about her health, many followers also wondered how Lena Meyer-Landrut’s health problems would affect the upcoming tour dates. She is scheduled to appear on stage in Plauen on July 19th, and five more concerts are planned. Now the singer is taking a stand.
Lena Meyer-Landrut shares a photo show on her Instagram channel: The social media post shows several photos taken during her concerts. “I’m looking forward to the next summer shows,” writes the 2010 ESC winner. With these words, she makes it clear: Meyer-Landrut wants to perform again in a few days. With “Miss u” (in German: “I miss you”) and “Healing” (in German: “healing”), she also reveals that she misses her audience – and wants to focus fully on her recovery until the concerts.
The followers are happy about the sign of life from Lena Meyer-Landrut. “I can’t wait any longer,” “We miss you too,” and “I’m so happy that you’re feeling better,” are some of the comments. But other fans are also taking a thoughtful tone: “We really worry about you, keep your head up and take care of yourself” and “Please listen to your body,” two users note.
A few days ago, Lena Meyer-Landrut returned to Instagram for the first time after her hospital stay: “Slowly getting back on my feet. A few days’ break and rest were necessary,” she said, giving the all-clear. In just 15 minutes, the post received more than 5,000 likes.
