Leon Slater Becomes Youngest TNA World Champion at Bound For Glory

Leon Slater defeated Nic Nemeth at TNA Bound For Glory 2026 in Tampa, Florida, on October 11, capturing the TNA World Championship at just 22 years old and making history as the youngest world champion in the promotion’s history.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling held its flagship pay-per-view event at the Yuengling Center, drawing attention across the promotion’s division cards. The card featured five title matches, and every single championship bout ended with a new titleholder. The night opened with the Hall of Fame ceremony streamed live on TNA+ and PPV.com, inducting ODB, Amazing Red, and Konnan before the main action began.

The main event capped off months of rising tension between the reigning champion and his challenger. Leon Slater entered the main event after invoking Option C, relinquishing his X Division Championship to secure a shot at Nic Nemeth’s world title. Director of Authority Santino Marella had previously stipulated that neither competitor could put hands on each other before the bell.

Slater addressed the champion on Thursday night’s edition of Impact ahead of the matchup, telling Nemeth that his rules served to protect the veteran rather than the challenger.

Nic, let’s get one thing clear – that rule isn’t saving me. That rule is saving you.

During the clash itself, Slater withstood Nemeth’s Danger Zone and delivered a Big Play dive over the ring post. After Nemeth kicked out of an initial Swanton 450 and blocked a subsequent attempt by raising his knees, Slater connected with a frog splash followed by a second Swanton 450. Nemeth could not escape the pinfall, securing Slater’s place in the history books.

Before stepping into the title fight, Slater reflected backstage on everything the reigning titleholder had said up to that point. The challenger expressed confidence that the veteran was stepping directly into his world, eager to prove why he earned the moniker of the youngest leader in charge.

Indi Hartwell Captures the Knockouts World Championship

The Knockouts World Championship match brought chaotic referee drama involving special guest referee Mickie James. Champion Xia Brookside pushed boundaries throughout the contest, yelling at James and ripping a turnbuckle pad off. When Brookside poked Hartwell in the eye and slapped James across the face, the Hall of Famer immediately retaliated with a slap of her own.

Hartwell survived the ensuing interference, which included sending Brookside into the exposed turnbuckle. Following a top-rope elbow drop and her signature Hurts Donut, Hartwell secured the three-count at 10:25 to claim her first world title in a major promotion. The victory made Hartwell only the third wrestler, alongside Jacy Jayne and Kelani Jordan, to win both the TNA Knockouts and NXT Women’s Championships.

Prior to this championship breakthrough, Hartwell had faced multiple roadblocks orchestrated by the promotion’s director of operations before authority figures intervened. The title bout itself also featured early back-and-forth sequences, including a bulldog from Hartwell yielding a two-count and a subsequent spinebuster before the chaotic finish involving the exposed steel.
