(LaPresse) – “For the first time Italy will be the protagonist of something that in many years of exploration of Mars has not yet been achieved”, says Francesca Esposito researcher of the National Institute of Astrophysics at the space week of the Italian pavilion at Expo of Dubai. The drill built by Leonardo will excavate the subsoil of Mars by extracting samples two meters deep in search of organic material that can reveal signs of past or present life. “Currently life can only exist underground, because at this moment there are no conditions for it to develop on the surface”, explains Esposito.
