Despite an early opposing goal, the French women’s team largely won their last group match (6-3) and reached the round of 16 by finishing first in their group.
Serious, diligent… and qualified! The French women’s football team made short work of Panama on Wednesday (6-3) for its third pool match. This success allows Hervé Renard’s Bleues to finish at the top of group F and qualify for the round of 16 of the 2023 World Cup.
The goals are signed Maëlle Lakrar (21st), Léa Le Garrec (28th), Vicki Becho (90th + 10) and especially Kadidiatou Diani, author of a hat-trick (28th, 37th sp, 51st sp). Panama opened the scoring with a superb free kick from captain Marta Cox (1st), before reducing the score thanks to Yomira Pinzon (64th, sp) and Lineth Cedeño.
