A situation that today brings the slate of unpaid debts to a tidy sum of… 2.5 billion francs.

According to Avorbam Investment, the main reason cited by tenants is that of the Covid-19 period.

In addition, the vast majority of outstanding payments predate the Covid-19 pandemic. The justification by the occurrence of the pandemic is difficult to accept and justify”, indicated the deputy general manager of Avorbam Investissement (AI), Henri Jr Paturault Anguilet.

You should know that of the 220 apartments spread over 15 buildings, to date, only one apartment was purchased « cash » with Avorbam Investissements (AI) for an amount of nearly 72 million francs.

The remaining 99% was acquired through the rental-purchase formula. Spread over 15 years, the rental-purchase prices vary between 350 and 550 thousand CFA francs per month.

The apartments were allocated to anyone who had put together a file in good and due form, with a deposit worth 6 months’ rent.

In April 2023, the Residence has 198 occupied rental-purchase apartments.
