According to a press release issued by the Department of Medicine and Public Welfare regarding the Corona impact in Tamil Nadu yesterday: –
In Tamil Nadu, 43 thousand 211 new coronas were tested yesterday. Of these, 85 were men and 73 were women, for a total of 158 cases. The maximum was 56 in Chennai, 22 in Coimbatore, 18 in Chengalpattu and 8 in the Nilgiris. In 11 districts of Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Mayiladuthurai, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Ranipettai, Thiruvarur, Tuticorin and Tirunelveli, not a single person was confirmed infected with the corona yesterday.
Hospital treatment
Of these, 31 children under the age of 12 and 23 adults over the age of 60 have been confirmed infected. In Tamil Nadu so far 6 crore 35 lakh 79 thousand 360 people have been tested for corona and 34 lakh 51 thousand 171 people have been confirmed for corona.
As of yesterday, 516 people have been admitted to hospitals in Tamil Nadu and are receiving treatment. Of these, 234 are being treated in oxygenated beds and 90 in the intensive care unit.
2 fatalities
Two people died due to corona infection in Tamil Nadu yesterday. One died each in Chennai and Thoothukudi. No casualties were reported in 36 districts. A total of 38 thousand 17 people have died of corona in Tamil Nadu so far. A total of 512 people were ‘discharged’ from the infection yesterday. Currently 2 thousand 414 people are in treatment. No one is currently receiving treatment in Mayiladuthurai district.
