The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 14th that it will hold a ‘June Travel Month’ campaign with the Korea Tourism Organization until the 30th of next month to benefit from local tourism in the country.

During the ‘March Travel Month’ campaign held in early spring, total national movement (269 million people) and tourism consumption (KRW 13.5 trillion) both increased by about 3.1% compared to the same period last year, which was normally the off-season for travel. From the beginning of spring, it has had the effect of revitalizing various parts of the region.
In this ‘June Travel Month’ campaign, more than 240 organizations, including the government, local governments, and the private sector, collaborated to prepare more diverse and abundant benefits and entertainment than last March.
First, the size and content of transportation discounts have been expanded compared to last March. When purchased in combination with existing local tourism-linked products (accommodation, experience tickets, etc.), you will receive a high-speed rail (KTX) discount (50% on weekdays, 30% on weekends), a 50% discount on tourist train fares, and a Naeilro Pass discount for young people (1%). 10,000 won) can be used through the KORAIL application (app), website (web), and on-site ticketing.

The ‘Digital Tourism Resident Card’, which is currently operated in 15 regions, will be applied to 19 additional local governments this year (Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, Andong-si, Gyeongbuk, and Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do).
Services for newly introduced regions can be used from the 1st of next month in line with ‘Travel Month’ (discounts for a total of 34 regions and 800 tourist attractions).
