Anyone can now read the essays that Nobel Prize-winning novelist Han Kang (54) contributed to the monthly cultural magazine ‘Saemteo’.
Publisher Samteo announced on the 25th that it will publish past serial articles written by author Han Kang to ‘Saemteo’ for free on the Samteo website.
There are a total of 18 articles being released for free this time, from ‘Bronze Hahoe Mask’ in the November 1988 issue to ‘As long as I know a Samis monk’ in the August 2000 issue. An official from Samteosa told News 1, “The purpose of this free release is to protect the Han River. “In order to introduce the author’s writing to more people,” he said, “we plan to continue posting it (on the website) indefinitely.”
According to Samteo, writer Han Kang worked as an editorial reporter for the monthly ‘Saemteo’ for about two years after graduating from college in 1993. Even after debuting, he contributed several articles to the magazine. The essay released this time is also written by writer Han Kang after he left Samteo.
