I am skeptical of every authority – from the first to the fourth. They are all going through a major crisis. We really live in two worlds. The world of politicians and the world of people. These two worlds do not hear each other. We are not talking about trust at all. But when there are no leaders, institutions get confused and change direction. People get confused and countries crash. We are at a stage where we will not feel that we have crashed because for 4 years we have been living in a confused world that we cannot understand.

This is what the publisher of “Media Group Bulgaria” Bulgaria Venelina Gocheva said, in Desislava Banova-Plevnelieva’s column on Nova TV.

The owner of “24 hours” admitted that politicians and many Bulgarians ask her how to get back on the road we lost our way. “What needs to happen is a very difficult thing, and I don’t know if we will succeed, – to stop hating each other. Hatred has become a national trait. To be able to see those who stick out above the swamp. To push those who submit over the swamp, is already a national feature. Let’s give someone a chance, but for him to draw a clear horizon. What is missing is the direction that will charge us with certainty that our life in the next 10-15 years will be worth it.” Gocheva also thinks.

When asked why humanity does not learn from history, she answered as a mother.

“For a mother, the worst thing is to send her son to war and I really want that not to happen in my lifetime. The sad thing is that Europe is weak, but the saddest thing is that in 2024 human life is worth nothing “, Venelina Gocheva added.

According to her, the recipe for quality journalism is more quality journalism, but above all not to punish those who follow the rules. This is also the recipe that turned “24 Chasa” into the most reliable media in Bulgaria, and our readers thank us by keeping “24 Chasa” at the top for 33 years.

“In Bulgaria, those who follow the rules are usually punished,” admitted the publisher of “Media Group Bulgaria”. She also recalled the “Dignified Bulgarians” initiative of “24 Chasa”.

“For 25 years we have been showing worthy Bulgarians. At first it seemed too ambitious to me, but now I realize how small we are in front of these great people. These stories make me cry, they show that someone somewhere is doing something good. I saw along the fires how many people just go to help and I see that how it unites Bulgarians,” Venelina Gocheva is convinced. And he added that another project for “Doctors we trust” is in the process of preparation.

“It is very important in Bulgaria to show people who are worth it,” she believes.

At the beginning of the conversation, Desi Banova-Plevnelieva asked her if one of the newspapers published by the media group is called “24 chasa” and she works 24/7 and does not turn off her phone. Gocheva admitted that it was so.

“It’s a fact that I don’t turn off my phone, but not because I’m afraid I’ll miss some news or an important conversation, but because I’m still curious,” she said.

“Back in the day, Neri Terzieva often said that every media outlet looks like its editor-in-chief or owner. I don’t know if I’m similar to the 24 Hours media platform, but from my side it looks calm, calm, professional, tolerant,” she described.

Again at the beginning, Desi Banova-Plevnelieva reminded her of her childhood and asked her if it was really her childhood dream to be an actress.

“These are 99% of girls’ dreams. I was a quiet child who read a lot, but I only made it to the school stage. And again at school I played Ivan Garelov in Panorama”, said Venelina Gocheva.

The love for journalism came again through the theater. In the newspaper “Srednoshkolsko zname”, which was published in the 80s, they announced a competition for the art we love and she wrote about the theater.

“This encouraged me and by the 12th grade I started writing every week. My steps and the decisions I made happened to me at a very early time,” she admitted.

“At the age of 18, I went to Veliko Tarnovo as a correspondent for “Narodna Mladjes” because I wanted to live alone. At the age of 27, I became the deputy editor-in-chief. Last year, my first editor-in-chief at “24 Chasa” Valery Naydenov reminded me how lightning-fast it really is was my career. When “24 Chasa” was created, I started as a reporter covering the Council of Ministers. After a week, I was the head of the “Politics” department, and after another month, I was the deputy editor-in-chief of the major media outlet.

Gocheva returned to the most difficult moments in her life. “These are when I lose people. A month ago I lost Borko Zyumbylev. When the story of the beating of Slavi Angelov happened,” said Gocheva. She recalled that the physical perpetrators of the beating were detained, but the court case has not yet been resolved. “This is the judicial system, which we constantly want to be reformed. Politicians are reforming it, but nothing is happening,” Gocheva is emphatic.

Desi Banova-Plevlenieva also asked her if she was able to overcome the loss of her father, when they had a very strong relationship and were even astral twins.

“It is at this moment that we stop being children. My parents taught me that the word love is said when the person is next to you. Every night we spoke on the phone and said: I love you. My mother is 90 years old and every in the evening at 7 p.m. I call and say: I love you. If I haven’t called at 7:05 p.m., she calls anxiously and asks: “Has something happened?” This is what I want my granddaughter to learn – that this is love .

About her granddaughter, Plamena said that she has changed her world drastically and that she sees that the time spent is very little. There was a period when Plamena wanted to become a publisher, but after one evening, when Gocheva received 10-15 calls, she changed direction and returned to Masha Ilieva’s ballet and her dream of being a ballet teacher. Gocheva admitted that she had neglected to pay this attention to her son Georgi.

At the final, Gocheva was also asked about her husband.

“Patient. On December 2, it will be 40 years since we’ve been together. We’re a team. We calm down when I come back in the evening and tell everything and he listens patiently. I get angry very quickly, but I can’t stay angry for long,” he said she.

Over the years, the noisy arguments have stopped, from the beginning it was about how we raise Gogo, but I think we did a decent job. Today I feel calm and happy that I have a beach.
