G. Nausėda also claimed on Tuesday that the agricultural policy currently does not have a strategy and a clear perspective of how this sector will look in five or ten years. However, in response to these comments, K. Navickas says that the strategy exists and European support is provided based on it.
“As for the strategy, it is there. According to it, all European support is provided. And all those things that were said, it was seen throughout my career, not all the ambitions, seen, are supported by the agricultural sector, but this is politics,” said the Minister of Agriculture.
K. Navicki’s work during this term was repeatedly criticized both by the representatives of the opposition and the ruling majority, and unsuccessfully interpellations were prepared for him.
At the beginning of the year, there was a farmers’ protest in Vilnius, when K. Navickas arrived, he was greeted by protesters with whistles, chants of “Shame!”, and calls to leave the post of minister.
