Letters from readers II: Alberdi Technical School

There are people who in life transcend by their actions without seeking merit or diplomas. In this group are some mothers who set a goal on their backs and came to meet it. The story began in 2017 when the then director of the Technical Education level, through an authoritative note, imposed on the then director that she have a day and time to deliver the historic property of the Juan B. Alberdi Technical School No. 1, giving rise to the request made through a file in the Ministry of Education by the local municipality. I say historic because this school was born in that building in 1974. Three mothers of students led the feat, they committed to the director to find a way for that physical space to be definitively part of the school. They were not alone, but accompanied by other parents, students and former students, some teachers and former teachers and many citizens of Alberdi. Doors were opened thanks to the president of Fodecus and the current ombudsman and other authorities. It was not easy; They had to spend hours with their families, travel, doors that were closed, hours of waiting, interviews that were suspended, but with the tenacity and high commitment assumed, last October there was the ordinance of the Deliberative Council No.: 14/2022 that gave shape to the transfer of the property by the Executive. This week the school received the legal instrument that the Province accepts the final donation from the Municipality. After this long period of time, I recognize the definitive gesture of the Mayor of this city in ceding that property and of the president and all the mayors of the Deliberative Council for unanimously approving the corresponding ordinance. As a former teacher, I publicly thank these ladies and all those who accompanied them for the achievement they achieved. I also request the current director, who took office in 2018, for institutional recognition of them and those who participated; also ask him to put the history of 49 years of the school on his shoulders. I hope altruism to demonstrate to the Alberdian community a commitment to cede the historical ground. My apologies if someone was not photographed, because there were many, in this thank you.
