Letters from readers: pilgrimage for water

It seems like a joke, but in Lules it is not. For several years we have suffered from a lack of water, either due to unscheduled outages or lack of pressure. The Self-Convened Neighbors have been carrying out procedures for years because, paradoxically, drinking water runs through the streets, due to the poor condition of the pipes, but the neighbors lack it. On August 29, it was not reported that funds had been approved by Enohsa to begin the repair of the pipes on Vicente Nasca Street in Quebrada de Lules. We never had news again. Although the approved work may be a start, we believe that the urgency warrants other works in all the neighborhoods of Lules. A few weeks ago there was a lack of water in a primary school in Lules where hundreds of children attend. Aren’t children protected? Or will it be necessary to go to federal justice to ensure that right? In the Mercedes area, residents had to threaten roadblocks for there to be a reaction. There are neighborhoods where there was a lack of water for 30 days. Faced with the need for water for consumption, for hygiene and in the face of the heat wave that is being experienced, we believe that authorities from the municipal executive and the Deliberative Council should accompany these efforts since it is a vital element for our development.
