“Levski” triumphed with the championship cups and among the girls in the second edition of the “A1 Stars of the Future under 14” volleyball tournament after a real drama on the final day in the “Levski Sofia” sports hall.
In the final fifth round for the girls, “Levski” and “Maritsa” came out in a direct clash for the top. The exact ranking in the top 3 also depended on it. But the victory meant first place.
The six teams in the tournament play each other – five matches of three games each. “Levski” led “Maritsa” 1:0 and led 13:6 points in the second, but the “yellow-blues” turned around and equalized. It came to a decisive game. In it, “Maritsa” led 21:13. However, the girls from “Levski” made a phenomenal turnaround, winning the game with 26:24, the match with 2:1, and thus the tournament.
Before that, “Levski” defeated CPVK 3:0, “Maritsa” prevailed over CSKA 2:1, and VASK recorded victories over “Miner” (Pernik) 2:1 and over CSKA 3:0. “Miner” won CPVK with 2:1.
In the final standings, “Levski” won with 4 wins from 5 matches and 12 points. VASK finished in second place with 4 wins and 10 points. “Maritsa” remained in third position with 10 points (3 wins). “Miner” also recorded 3 successes, but finished fourth with 7 points. CPVK is fifth, and CSKA is in sixth place.
For the boys, “Levski” won with 2:1 the game that turned into a direct match for the first place against “Izgrev” (Yablanitsa), to subsequently win the championship cup. On the last day, the “blues” prevailed over “Slavia” with 3:0. “Izgrev” defeated “Lyulin” cleanly. CSKA won twice by 3:0 over Slavia and Beroe. “Lyulin” also beat Starozagorci with 3:0.
“Levski” is first with 13 points after 5 wins from 5 matches. “Izgrev” finished second with 12 points, giving way only to the “blues”. CSKA took the third place with 8 points (3 wins). Lyulin is next in the ranking “, “Slavia” and “Beroe”.
As is customary, all participating teams received medals, the ideal girls’ and boys’ teams were determined, with the best performer from each team and the girls’ and boys’ MVPs selected.
The stars of the future were personally awarded by Svetoslav Gotsev, captain of the “Levski” men’s team, which triumphed with the championship title of Bulgaria.
The tournament was held with the support of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
