Under a strong sun, the Bloco da Lexa kicked off the Carnival of the “megablocos” in Rio de Janeiro this Sunday morning (5). It is the first weekend of the parade of the official blocks. Alongside guests such as Thiago Pantaleão and Jojo Todynho, Lexa debuted in the Rio de Janeiro revelry in the first year of Carnival of the official blocks after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rio City Hall’s expectation was that the singer would “drag” around 500,000 people along Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, in the center of the capital.
The singer sang the successes of her career, such as naughty, music chosen to open the parade. The first guest to join the electric trio was Thiago Pantaleão. Then Jojo Todynho and Gaby Amarantos joined the singer.

The Rio de Janeiro State Military Police Secretariat set up a security scheme for the parade. 800 police officers were deployed to Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos, starting at 7 am.
Twenty-four checkpoints were set up along the barriers created in the access region to Avenida Presidente Antônio Carlos. The scheme also has the support of other battalions, such as the Aeromobile Group (GAM) and the Dog Action Battalion (BAC), the Mounted Police Regiment (RPMont) and the Special Rounds and Crowd Control (Recom).
According to the Municipal Guard, around 245 agents are also working in the block.
