On June 28, in the match between the second team of the second league of Latvia, RFS and “Leevon”/PPK, an incident took place in the stands, in which Žaleiko’s mother ordered the fans of the opposing team to leave the stadium, called them fascists and invoked Vladimir Putin, who, when he comes to Latvia, will be the first to shoot these fans.
According to witnesses on the “X” website, Žaleiko and Markhievs also got involved in the conflict after that, joining the statement of the footballer’s mother.
“The ethics committee has started to explain and assess the circumstances of the incident regarding the possible hateful and pro-Russian statements of RFS footballers Gleb Zhaleiko and Adama Markhiyev, including requesting explanations from the parties involved. Whether an ethics violation case will be initiated will be decided based on from the received information and other facts,” LFF said in a statement.
LFF drew attention to the incident only less than a month later, but RFS has not commented on the actions of its team representatives.
