Korean company LG announced new robotic assistant Smart Home AI Agent with functions based on artificial intelligence technologies. A compact two-wheeled robot will be able to patrol the house and interact with other smart technology.
The robot is based on the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform and is equipped with a speaker, camera and other sensors that allow it to determine the temperature in the house, humidity and air quality. The robot works autonomously, can communicate with people in the house and show emotions. Thanks to multimodal artificial intelligence technology, it will be able to recognize voices and images, as well as capture the context of the conversation and the intentions of the owners.
The robot will be able to control elements of a smart home, including turning off charged electrical devices, patrolling the house and sending notifications to the user’s smartphone when unusual activity is detected. The device will also be able to interact with pets, monitor traffic jams and users’ schedules and, for example, remind you to take pills.
