He started five out of six games in Triple-A this year, but only started once out of nine in the major leagues. On June 15, when he was a member of the Milwaukee Brewers, he pitched three innings in relief against the Cincinnati Reds, playing a long-relief role.
Manager Yeom said, “He was able to do this because he mostly played as a relief pitcher before coming here. If he had only played as a starter before coming here, it would have been difficult.” He added, “If we need to secure the game, he can pitch two innings. In that case, he only pitches one day out of two. If he only pitches one inning, he can be used for two consecutive days.”
After this week, he will rejoin the starting lineup.
“After he gets enough rest, he will return to the starting rotation. He will start in the second half of the season next week,” added Manager Yeom.
