jpnn.com – Sinar Mas officially collaborates with Korean IT company, LG CNS Co. Ltd. to form a joint venture company, LG Sinar Mas.
The new company will build a data center in the center of Jakarta worth IDR 4.6 trillion.
LG Sinar Mas CEO, Han Dong Hyun, said that the first joint project between Sinar Mas and LG CNS will build an AI (artificial intelligence)-based data center in the Central Business District in Kuningan, South Jakarta.
“This is the first AI data center in Indonesia,” he explained at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday (10/9).
The data center project is expected to be completed in mid-2026 with target users being domestic and other multi-national companies. This collaboration is expected to position LG Sinar Mas as a major player in Indonesia’s technology landscape by contributing to digitalization and economic growth.
“I have strong confidence that we can achieve great things together,” he said.
A number of other digital-based initiatives, innovations, and partnerships within Sinar Mas, among others, can be seen at the Sinar Mas Digital Day 2024 event which will be held at the end of September at ICE BSD City, South Tangerang.
“We are confident that we can contribute to supporting integrated technology in Indonesia,” said Sinar Mas Board Member, Franky Oesman Widjaja.
LG Sinar Mas, a new company formed by Sinar Mas and LG CNS Co. Ltd., will build the first AI data center in Indonesia.
