One of the more unique phones that LG introduced just before it decided to exit the mobile market was the LG Wing with a dual screen that rotates on its axis. Now, about three years after its launch, the manufacturer has begun to provide buyers with one more and definitely last update.
The update that weighs about 1.4 gigabytes upgrades the Wing to the latest Android 13 version, with March 2023 security updates. Beyond that, it brings several more interface updates such as quick shortcuts on the lock screen, a preview for copied text content, an improvement in the layout of multiple windows, Improved support for control buttons when playing video or audio and more. The update is now being rolled out to devices in South Korea and later it is intended to reach all users in the world.
As you remember, the LG Wing launched at the end of 2020 features a main screen that rotates over a secondary screen and provides unique display options. The main screen measures 6.8 inches, and when it rotates 90 degrees to a horizontal working position, it reveals another 3.9-inch OLED screen underneath. Thus, this configuration makes it possible to run a certain application on the main screen and perform another operation on the second screen without interruption. For example, you can watch a video on one screen and respond to comments on the second screen, or play on the main screen with the control buttons appearing on the second.
It was based on not very powerful hardware with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor, a fifth generation connection and 8 gigabit of working memory, 256 gigabit for file storage with the possibility of expansion using a memory card, and a 4,000 mAh battery hour. The photography setup included a 32-megapixel removable selfie camera and three lenses on the back of 64, 13 and 12 megapixels. Its original price in Israel was NIS 3,199.
