Civil Protection elements of the district and aid bodies remain alert in view of the rainy season, reported the mayor of Álvaro Obregón, Lia Lemon.

The mayor recommended that residents not throw garbage in the street to avoid blocking drains, not cross water channels, especially in the upper parts of the municipality, and report any emergency by calling 55 55 16 05 61.

He also asked residents to pay attention to instructions from authorities and to check the mayor’s social networks for precautions to take and how to act before, during and after a storm. He also recommended preparing a family civil protection plan and, if necessary, having a life backpack that includes important documents either in plastic bags or on a USB-type electronic device.

Additionally, he indicated that Civil Protection personnel from the mayor’s office notified 500 families house by house about the preventive measures for this rainy season in the Totomastitla, Tierra Nueva and Tlaxomulco areas, as well as in Loma Nueva and Hogar y Redención.
