Libya has shown great solidarity with Sudanese refugees.

The United Nations said Libya has shown great solidarity with Sudanese refugees by opening hospitals and schools to them.

The United Nations office in Libya confirmed that the city of Kufra is still the main point of entry for Sudanese refugees into Libya, with more than 300 refugees arriving in the city daily.

The office expects more Sudanese refugees to arrive in Libya as clashes continue in their country, explaining that most of them are families and children fleeing the war and looking for refuge in the form of temporary solutions.

According to the office, the infrastructure is struggling to meet rapidly growing needs, including shelter, health, sanitation, and other basic needs such as food.

The UN office noted that coordination between UN agencies, partners and authorities is essential to provide effective support, as UN agencies are working to intensify their coordinated response to meet the needs of areas receiving most of the arriving refugees.
