The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth for Planning and Development Affairs, Randa Gharib, revealed that Libya has presented initiatives for the benefit of African youth, including the establishment of a digital transformation company for youth, and the establishment of a federation of youth hostel associations in the countries of the cluster.
This came during the launch of the meetings of experts of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States concerned with youth, in the capital, Tripoli, today, Sunday, in preparation for the fourth ministerial meeting of youth ministers in the countries of the Community during the next two days.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Ado Al-Hajji Abu, expressed his thanks to the State of Libya and its institutions for the capabilities it has provided to make the meetings of the institutions and structures of the group a success, the most recent of which was the meeting of the Ministers of Labor and the agreement to hold a meeting of the Ministers of Culture during next May.
Abu pointed out that climate change, unemployment, epidemics, increasing population growth, and lack of coordination are among the problems facing young people, even though the continent has many wealth, including young people.
The Executive Secretary called for developing a concrete and executable program regarding programs and plans related to the future of the community’s youth, involving youth in decision-making and providing the tools they need to ensure economic and social transformation, and putting forward initiatives and proposals aimed at solving and reducing migration problems.
In her speech, Gharib pointed out that the Gathering countries include the largest percentage of young people, and they are in dire need of care, attention, and protection from external influences, considering this a historical and national responsibility that obligates everyone to emerge from this meeting with realistic, implementable decisions and plans.
Participants in the meeting will discuss many important files, including climate change, unemployment, epidemics, increasing population growth, and strengthening efforts among young people in the fields of education, health, and unemployment.
