Libya obtains two positions in the bodies of the Parliamentary Union in Geneva

The House of Representatives delegation concluded its participation in the work of the Geneva“>149th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva.

At the conclusion of the Assembly’s work, “Libya obtained, through the parliamentary divisions, two positions in the union’s bodies, where the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, obtained the position of representative of the Arab group in the office of the Permanent Committee for United Nations Affairs, and a member of the House of Representatives, Rabia Bouras, obtained Position of representative of the Arab Group in the High-Level Advisory Group on Combating Terrorism and Violent Extremism.”

“The meetings of the 214th session of the Governing Council, held on the sidelines of the work of the General Assembly, concluded by presenting amendments to the rules of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and reviewing reports related to human rights and reports of specialized meetings.”

“The work of the 149th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union was concluded by adopting the decisions issued by the work of the 149th session of the Assembly and adopting the final document of the session, the Geneva Declaration, on benefiting from the development of technology and innovation for a more peaceful and sustainable future.”

It is noteworthy that “the delegation was headed by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Head of the Parliamentary Division of the Union, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, and members of the House of Representatives, members of the Parliamentary Division of the Union, Ramadan Shambesh, Dr. Sultanate Al-Mesmari, Rabia Bouras, and the Head of the Office of the House of Representatives, Member of the Association of Secretaries-General of National Parliaments, Abdullah Al-Masry Al-Fadil.”
