Libya participates in a conference in the Arab Republic of Egypt

Members of the House of Representatives participated in the activities of the 43rd World Scout Conference held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

According to what was published by the Council, members of the Arab Parliamentary Scout Union, Dr. Ismail Al-Sharif, Eng. Fawzia Abu Ghalia, and Dr. Suad Al-Shali, participated in the conference activities under the supervision and organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.

The members of the House of Representatives participating in the conference also participated in the work of the regular meeting of the 15th General Assembly of the Arab Parliamentary Scout Union, which was held on the sidelines of the activities of the 43rd World Scout Conference. During the meeting, “the agenda items were discussed, which included approving the minutes of the previous meeting of the Assembly and adopting the administrative and technical report.”

Member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Ismail Al-Sharif, explained that “they held a meeting with a delegation from the Scouts and Guides Movement in Libya to unify viewpoints, and several meetings were also held with a number of delegations from countries participating in the conference,” stressing that “the Scout Union of Arab Parliamentarians agreed to host the city of Benghazi for the next meeting of the union.”

It is worth noting that the conference activities started last Saturday and will continue until the twenty-third of this month with the participation of more than 2000 members of the Scout Movement representing 176 countries, and with the distinguished presence and participation of the General Scout and Guide Movement in Libya represented by the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Scouts and the President of the General Scout Conference and a number of leaders, scouts and guides in Libya.

The conference will address a number of topics, most notably peace, sustainability, youth leadership, human rights and informal education, with the aim of inspiring the leadership of national scout associations through holding several sessions and workshops during the conference.
