Libya participates in the Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunisia

A delegation from the Libyan National Radio and Television Network participated in the 24th session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which was organized in Tunisia.

According to the “Wal” agency, “the participation of the Libyan delegation in the festival represented a step towards enhancing media cooperation and communication between Libya and the Arab countries.”

The Libyan delegation participating in the festival held several meetings with representatives of public radio and television networks, Arab and international media organizations, and radio and television production companies from various Arab countries.

The Libyan delegation discussed “ways to develop media cooperation between Libya and Arab countries, exchange expertise and experiences, and the possibility of Libyan productions participating in various Arab and international forums.”

The Libyan delegation showed great interaction with the various activities of the festival, and its keenness to highlight Libya’s culture and heritage through the radio and television works that were shown.

The director of the Libyan National Radio on the network, Ahmed Al-Maqsabi, explained to “Bawabat Al-Wasat” that “the meetings of the Libyan delegation with many of the delegations participating in the festival aimed to reach several understandings and agreements with these parties represented in working to create exchanges of programs and media and technical expertise, holding joint workshops, training Libyan cadres, and working to create opportunities for joint production with the network in the fields of drama, artistic, cultural, and children’s programs.”

Al-Maqsabi said: “The management of the Libyan National Radio and Television Network sought to be present at such events to prove the return of the Libyan media to participate in international and regional media forums to convey the true picture of the steps and procedures that Libya is witnessing, which seek to develop the media technically and professionally.”

He added that “the parties participating in the festival welcomed all initiatives to work with the Libyan Radio and Television Network, and stressed their desire to communicate and work together in a way that benefits everyone, brings closer the bonds of relations, supports them, sustains them, develops them continuously, and has a presence in the media arena.”

The Director of the Libyan National Radio indicated that “the Libyan delegation participating in the activities of the Arab Radio and Television Festival reached an understanding on a “draft agreement” between the Libyan National Radio and Television Network, Tunisian Television, and Algerian Radio.”

The Libyan delegation participating in the festival included the Director General of the Libyan National Radio and Television Network, Awatif Al-Tashani, and a number of department directors in the network.

The 24th session of the Arab Radio and Television Festival was held in the City of Culture, Chadli Klibi, Tunisia, from June 26 to 29, under the slogan “Supporting Palestine.”

The festival witnessed wide participation from various Arab countries, and included many events and activities, including radio and television shows, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions.
