Libya participates in the Eurasian Global Forum in Russia

The State of Libya, represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Government of National Unity, participated in the Fourth Eurasian Global Forum in Russia, “to enhance international cooperation in the field of women’s empowerment, exchange experiences with other countries, and explore new opportunities to support women’s projects.”

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, “Upon instructions from the Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Abu Bakr Al-Kilani, the Ministry of Social Affairs participated with a delegation headed by the Director of the Women’s Empowerment Office in the activities of the fourth edition of the Eurasian Global Women’s Forum in St. Petersburg.”

The forum witnessed wide participation from more than 126 countries and twenty leading international organizations. Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech during the general session, “in which he stressed that the forum derives its importance from the fact that it brings together women who have reached high levels in the creative, administrative, intellectual, humanitarian and educational fields, and whose experience is of great importance to the world.”

During the session, “several topics were discussed across five dialogue platforms, including building trust and global cooperation as two main topics of the forum, as well as the influence of women and their forms of participation in the economy and areas of developing women’s entrepreneurship.”

“The Eurasian Women’s Forum is the largest official international platform for dialogue between women leaders from all continents and contributes to developing joint decisions on current issues,” and “the Director of the Women’s Empowerment Office held several meetings to share experiences and expertise with the delegations participating in the forum.”
